In this how-to video from projectink we are shown how to make a lamp out of a tequila bottle. There's no need to spend 100 bucks on a lamp when making your own is cheap and easy and fun. These are the supplies you'll need: A bottle (we're using a Jose Cuervo tequila bottle), a plastic bag, super glue, a hot glue gun (or you can use epoxy), a screwdriver, a lamp kit (you can get these at the hardware store for about 12 bucks), and a glass-cutting drill bit. For the glass-cutting bit, try and find one big enough the make a hole that the lamp cord wil fit through. If you can't find one big enough, you can use a steel bit after you drill your hole to make it bigger, or you can wiggle the glass-cutting bit around to try and make the hole bigger. Here's how we make the map. First, clean the bottle out. Put the bottle in the bag before drilling. This is very important to prevent glass dust from getting everywhere. Now drill the hole in the bottle. This is a slow process. You don't want to try and do it too fast or it might crack the bottle. It takes about 5 minutes. Now, wash the bottle again to get rid of glass dust, and throw the glass dust in the bag away. THe hole is fine if you can fit the cord through it. Next, string the cord through the bottle and have it come out the top. Now take the light fixture and attach the cord to it with the screwdriver as demnstrated. You don't have to be an elrician to do this; it's really easy. Next, pull the cord back so the light is at the top of the bottle, and mark the cord where it comes out the bottom. Tie a knot in the cord to keep your fixture from getting pulled through. Now, all you have to do is glue the light fixture on. First use super glue and then use the hot glue gun, as shown. Screw in the light bulb and there you have it, a cool Jose Cuervo bottle lamp! Another bright idea from projecttink.
